DEFINITION:
A subject is a person or a thing about which something is being stated.                                                 Joe is a good boy.
HOW CAN WE KNOW ABOUT A SUBJECT:
To know about the subject, first, find the verb. Then ask’who’and’ what’, your answer is your subject.Like* Ronnie finished his homeworkAsk who finished his homework and you will get your answer ‘Ronnie’.Similarly,*She was hit by the ball.The cat is asleepWho is asleep my answer is ‘cat’.The verb is asleep.*Many good people are leaving.Now the verb(action)is ‘leaving’ and I am asking ‘what’/’who are leaving then my answer would be good people. 
COMPOUND SUBJECT
DEFINITION:
A compound sentence is a subject that is made up of two or more subjects, connected by the conjunctions such as “and”, “but”, “or”.  
HOW YOU CAN WE KNOW ABOUT THE COMPOUND SENTENCE?
 If you can find more than one subject.BOB knows what to do?JOHN knows what to do?Now, combining these two BOB and JOHN know what to do?
